As the DNC begins, Ronald Reagan reminds us of the substance of the Democratic Platform! (Video)

Reblogged from Letting Freedom Ring:

Oh how I miss this man!  Although I love Mitt Romney, he can learn quite a bit from watching old Ronald Reagan speeches.  Reagan not only nails this one, he has the acuity to recognize the truth!   As the Democratic National Convention begins, Reagan reminds us of the substance of their platform!

I must admit I did love Romney's delivery of Obama's promise to 'stop the rising oceans and heal the planet'!

I recently trekked back to California to visit my family and enjoy some downtime after two months in the District.  I certainly needed some R&R to recharge and relax. (The political arena is a hectic albeit wonderful sphere to be immersed in. I've learned that any getaway you get shouldn't be taken for granted.)  I had the chance to see some friends, visit my extended family, and finally went to  the Ronald Reagan President Library in Simi Valley, CA.

Great piece by my sister! California is slowly but surely becoming a third world country. It's one of those places that ironically can be called a depressing paradise.

Young Conservatives, Come to FRC’s Values Voter Summit!

Family Research Council’s annual conference, Values Voter Summit, is coming up! It is one of the premier conservative conferences in the country, because it is encourages Americans to vote for principled people who wholeheartedly champion conservative values.

This year, there will be many speakers at VVS, including Ted Cruz, Star Parker, Rep. Paul Ryan, Nonie Darwish, Steven Crowder, Sen. Jim DeMint, Gary Bauer, Bishop Harry Jackson and Rick Santorum!

Fellow young conservatives, there are limited $50 scholarships still available, so if you plan to come, please register ASAP!

I attended last year’s Values Voter Summit as a youth board member, and it was an incredible experience. The best part of the conference was participating in the Student Mixer that featured Lila Rose. I helped with the Q & A part of the mixer.

This year, I am on the VVS youth board once again. I will be helping out the Student Mixer again, but will also be on a small panel for the “Millennials and the Future of Political Engagement” breakout session. Two of my fellow youth board members and I will ask the main panel a question or two.

I hope you can come to Values Voter Summit this year! Make sure to spread the word about it by sharing this promo video that FRC Action made last month!

Support Jewish Students at the University of California

Reblogged from All-American Girl for the Restoration of Values:

StandWithUs recently launched an online petition drive in support of a July 9 report on Campus Climate at the University of California highlighting campus anti-Israelism and anti-Semitism.

In response to the report, entitled "University of California Jewish Student Campus Climate Fact-Finding Team Report & Recommendations," some anti-Israeli students and community members - ironically, some Jewish students -  decried the report's findings and said that it's not representative of the Jewish community at large.

A Monument of Sand

This is being built for the Democratic Convention, and it very much symbolizes everything Barack Obama is about:

(H/t Dan Riehl)

It reminds me of Ozymandias, by Percy Bysshe Shelley:

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown…

This is spot on! The Obama sand sculpture at the DNC is simply a symbol of our president's narcissism.
